Drive-In Racking systems are designed for fast moving products on a pallet-in/pallet-out basis. Each bay is dedicated to a single product and/or lot number. It is frequently used in facilities with higher number of skids with a low number of product lines or where floor space is at a premium (i.e. freezers & coolers). NAS Drive-In Racking provides effective space utilization with significant reduction in pick slots, since each tunnel can store only a single product and together with fewer aisles, storage densities can be doubled. Pallet loading and retrieval is from the same aisle and is used when last-in and first-out (LIFO principle) is acceptable. The forklifts drive into the lanes to load or retrieve pallets which are stored on full length load rails. Best used to maximize storage space against walls or building columns.
